I am the only daughter of Tam and Leonne Treespeaker, from a small forest dedicated to the Goddess Mielikki.  My father was a ranger who lived to patrol the forest and ensure the safety of all of her inhabitants.   My mother stayed home and cared for any one lost or hurt while in the forest, blessed with some healing abilities by our patron deity.   I learned to tend the forest at an early age from my father, and gained a respect for all of her inhabitants.  I learned some healing skills from my mother, though I more often than not used those abilities on the forest animals who became my closest friends.  My parents often joked that I held more ties to the forest than the elves of my village.  I guess that is part of what helped me.

My village was attacked one evening  sometime during my 50th year by a Gith Pirate party.   They looted and pillaged everything they could find.  My father and the other men of the village tried to fend the vagabonds off, but most of them lost their lives.   My mother and I tried to help heal the wounded but there were too many.   Sometime during the fighting my mother and I were separated and the next time I saw here she was in chains being pulled away by a Gith.  I tried to run after her but I heard my father call out in pain.  I was torn, run after my mother and try to fight the Gith off with nothing but my hands or try to heal my father.  My father was closer, and I figured I could heal him and then he and I could go rescue my mother together.  I was only a child and I still had one parent right there so I tried to cling to some hope...  I bandaged all the wounds I could see, but he'd been run through and the wound was too deep.  I couldn't stop the bleeding.  I just couldn't.  Why did they have to attack us?  I'm sorry.  Its still not easy to talk about, so let me move on.  As you can guess, by the time I had done all I could do to heal my father my mother was nowhere to be seen.  She was gone and my father was dying.  My whole world was ending.  I eventually cried myself to sleep near my father.  When I awoke the next morning my father had gone to join Mielikki in her great forest and I was truly alone.  I tried to find others from my village but the only people left were a few other orphaned children like myself - our fathers dead and our mothers gone, carried away by the Gith for the Gods only know what.   I guess Mielikki was looking out for us, though, because later that day the Dryads from the forest found us.  We went to live with them and learned to love nature even more.

I missed my parents terribly, but found some comfort in my animal friends and my adoptive mother Alyse.  Alyse taught me to play the flute, and songs on the flute that would soothe the forest animals.  One day while practicing my flute a small black kitten came along and curled up in my lap.  She just lay there, purring.  When I got up to leave she followed me, she's not left me since.  I named her Midnight, after the color of her fur.  I lived happily in the forest.   I learned more and more every day about the forests, and animals, and the way my music would affect the animals.  I learned to use a bow to protect myself against the hunters and poachers who invaded my forest.  I loved my home and new family, but I could never forget what the Gith had done to my parents.  When I entered my 100th year I set out to avenge my parents.  It was hard to leave Alyse and the forest, but I couldn't get the image of my village burning and needed closure.  I wanted to find my mother if she still lived.  I set out with my bow and a quiver full of arrows, a backpack with extra clothes and a few days provisions, and Midnight on my shoulder.

One day while in a small village I met Sirabi, Dameon, and two of their other friends - Storm, a priest of Paladine, and Jeremiah, a wizard - and we set out to explore an old abandoned dungeon.  The rest, as they say, is history.   I've been with Sirabi and Dameon ever since.
